Our Barnes & Noble Bookfair will be the week of March 10th-14th. Our playgroups that week will be held at Barnes & Noble in Allen Park. Please check with your child's teacher if you are unsure of your group time. Those who attend will receive a $5 voucher to pick out a book! Reading to your child is a wonderful way to promote language development.
And speaking of literacy...The Guidance Center is hosting a free literacy event on Tuesday, March 18th from 4-6pm at their Southgate Community Resource Center/North Pointe Elementary School. The theme is "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and activities will include a storytime, craft, games and snack. Every child in attendance will receive a free book. Our next parent group will be held in our office on Thursday, March 27th from 6-7 pm. This group is designed as a time for parents to gain information from other parents as well as the school psychologist, Theresa Hamblin, regarding topics of interest. Attendance for this group has been low and we really hope that more parents will take advantage of this opportunity. No childcare is available but snacks will be provided. Please let your teacher know if you plan to attend or call Theresa at (734)558-7581.
